The rule
TikTok's Creator Rewards Program requires you to be 18 or older, live in one of eight countries, run a public personal account in good standing, and have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
Checked Primary sources
Meeting those numbers gets the account in. Each video then has to pass its own test: at least a minute long, original, at least 1,000 For You feed views, and not a Duet, a Stitch, a Photo Mode post or a sponsored video. Rewards are paid on qualified views only, and content TikTok keeps out of the For You feed earns nothing from the program.
This page collects the rules from TikTok's own pages: the Creator Academy, the program terms for the US and for the EEA, and the Community Guidelines version in force since 24 September 2026. Every rule links to the page that sets it, and every page was read on 28 September 2026. It covers eligibility only; there is no advice on reach or the algorithm here. For the thresholds of other platforms' programs side by side, see creator monetization requirements by platform.
What are the eligibility requirements for the Creator Rewards Program?
One row per requirement, from TikTok's eligibility article, its program overview and the US program terms, checked 2026-09-28.
Checked
| Requirement | TikTok's rule | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Age | 18 or older. The US terms also refer to the age of majority where you live. | Creator Academy, US terms |
| Country | You are based in, and your account is registered in, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico or Brazil. The EEA terms add that you must not use a VPN or a similar tool. | Creator Academy, EEA terms |
| Followers | At least 10,000. Both sets of terms say "authentic" followers. | Creator Academy, US terms |
| Views | At least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. The US terms count the 30 days before you apply or are invited, and say "authentic" views. | Creator Academy, US terms |
| Account type | Personal accounts only. Business accounts, accounts associated with organisations, and government, politician and political party accounts do not qualify. | Creator Academy |
| Visibility | The account must be public. | Creator Academy |
| Standing | Good standing under the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, no tampering with the program or fraud, and no violation of the Creator Code of Conduct. | Creator Academy |
| Payment | A linked payment account in your own name, plus the onboarding and tax documents TikTok asks for. | US terms |
| Staff | TikTok's own employees, officers and directors are excluded; the EEA terms also exclude contractors. | US terms, EEA terms |
You apply in TikTok Studio under Creator Rewards Program, and TikTok says you will hear back within three days (Creator Academy). A rejected applicant can re-apply after 30 days (US terms). A business account that switches to personal, under Settings and privacy, Account, Switch to personal account, can apply 30 days after the switch (Creator Academy).
The list can change without a new version of this page catching up. The US terms reserve TikTok's right to add or modify eligibility requirements in its sole discretion, for applicants and for creators already in the program. Check the date on each row against the source before you rely on it.
Which countries is the Creator Rewards Program available in?
As of 28 September 2026, the Creator Academy lists eight: the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. The eligibility article and the program overview give the same list.
The list does two jobs:
- It decides who can join. You must be based in one of the eight and have the account registered there.
- It decides which views pay. A qualified view must come from one of the same eight countries (qualified views). A creator who lives in France is paid only on the views that come from the eight, wherever the rest of the audience sits.
The terms are regional. This page quotes the US terms, last updated 20 July 2026, and the EEA terms, last updated April 2025, the version for the European Economic Area, which includes Germany and France. Creators in the UK, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Brazil should check which version applies to them; this page does not quote it. The US terms also record the old name: the program was formerly the Creativity Program Beta.
Which videos earn rewards?
An eligible account does not make every video eligible. Each video has to meet all of these, per the program overview and the EEA terms:
- Length. The terms say at least 1 minute (US) and one minute or longer (EEA). The Creator Academy's program overview says "over 1 minute"; its rewards article says at least 1 minute. A video of exactly 60 seconds sits on the line between the two wordings.
- Views. At least 1,000 views on the For You feed, in the Creator Academy's words. The EEA terms set the floor at 1,000 qualified views instead.
- Format. Not a Duet, not a Stitch, and not made with Photo Mode.
- Commercial content. Ads, paid promotions and sponsored content do not qualify. A video made for a brand deal earns nothing from the program, whatever its views.
- Originality and quality. Original, high-quality content. The EEA terms spell it out: produced entirely by the creator or adding new ideas to existing content, with quality judged by TikTok at its sole discretion.
- Resolution. The program overview asks for 1080p or higher.
- Rules. The video must follow the program terms, the Terms of Service, the Community Guidelines, the Creator Code of Conduct and the Copyright Policy. The US terms let TikTok mute, remove or disqualify an eligible video that contains unauthorised music; music in sponsored and business posts covers which sounds a post may use.
The EEA terms add that not all content you post to the program will collect rewards.
What counts as a qualified view?
Rewards are calculated on qualified views, not on the view count shown on the video. TikTok's definition, from its qualified-view article and the program FAQ:
Checked
| Rule | What TikTok says |
|---|---|
| Watch time | The viewer watched for at least five seconds. |
| Not interested | Views where the viewer tapped "I'm not interested" are excluded. |
| Repeat views | Multiple views from the same account count as one. |
| Search | Search views count when watched for at least 30 seconds. |
| Origin | The view comes from one of the eight program countries. |
| Paid and fake views | Fraudulent and paid views are excluded; so are ads, paid promotions and sponsored content. |
| View Boost Benefit | Views from View Boost Benefit do not count. |
| Your own views | Excluded by the EEA terms. The US terms exclude metrics from you or from accounts acting with you to inflate them, and anything paid, incentivised or artificially produced. |
This is TikTok's definition for this program only. It is not a general definition of a TikTok view.
How are Creator Rewards calculated, and why is there no RPM figure here?
TikTok's rewards article splits the payout in two:
- Standard Reward. The base payout, calculated on qualified views. It depends on audience metrics such as the regions viewers come from and the language of the content.
- Additional Reward. Tied to content quality. It moves with average watch time, retention rate, completion rate and search value, and TikTok looks for content that is well-crafted, engaging and specialised.
TikTok defines RPM as average gross revenue per 1,000 qualified views, the two rewards combined. It publishes no RPM figure. None of the TikTok pages listed at the end of this article gives a rate, a range or a table by country. The EEA terms describe rewards as calculated "dynamically" from view origin, view count, engagement and authenticity, and state that a payment does not guarantee any future payment. The US terms reserve TikTok's right to cap each creator's rewards monthly or annually; no cap figure is published.
Two clauses explain why outside RPM figures cannot be checked. The US terms ask creators to keep the details of reporting metrics confidential. The EEA terms treat the details of rewards and reporting metrics as confidential information. Any RPM range published elsewhere therefore rests on individual dashboards or on estimates; none of the TikTok pages cited here supports one. This page quotes none.
Your own RPM sits in your Creator Rewards Program dashboard, which shows rewards and RPM per video and splits each video's rewards into RPM and qualified views (dashboard article). Rearranged, TikTok's definition gives the only estimate you can check: gross reward ≈ qualified views ÷ 1,000 × your RPM, with both inputs taken from your own dashboard. Invited creators may also join a monthly Specialized Rewards Program, per the US terms, which sets no public rates either.
Which For You feed rules also block rewards?
The program FAQ is blunt: content that is ineligible for the For You feed is not eligible for the Creator Rewards Program (Creator Academy). The Community Guidelines say the same from the other side: content that is not eligible for the For You feed may also be restricted from monetization, and monetization features need you to be 18 or older (Accounts and features).
The For You feed rules have no single list. The For You feed standards page points to the "FYF Ineligible" boxes spread through the Community Guidelines. The version checked here was released on 25 August 2026 and took effect on 24 September 2026. A selection of those boxes, paraphrased:
Checked
| Area | Ineligible for the For You feed | Section |
|---|---|---|
| Unoriginal content | Reused content without creative edits, such as clips showing someone else's watermark or logo | Integrity and authenticity |
| Low-effort content | Low-quality or minimally edited content, such as short clips made only from GIFs | Integrity and authenticity |
| Engagement bait | Like-for-like promises, false incentives for gifting or following, misleading claims to boost views | Integrity and authenticity |
| Misinformation | Misinformation that may cause moderate harm; unverified claims about crises or major civic events; content under fact-check review | Integrity and authenticity |
| Risky activities | Activities that may lead to moderate physical harm (also restricted to users 18 and older) | Mental and behavioral health |
| Adult themes | Significant adult body exposure or sexually suggestive behaviour involving adults | Sensitive and mature themes |
| Degrading content | Lower-severity degrading behaviour ("may be" ineligible) | Safety and civility |
The rule also works at account level. An account that breaks no rule but posts a lot of ineligible content may itself be made ineligible for the For You feed and harder to find (Accounts and features). If a video is made ineligible, that shows in TikTok's analytics (For You feed standards), and the decision can be appealed (Enforcement).
What makes an account ineligible after it joins?
TikTok reviews enrolled accounts periodically. The eligibility article lists 14 factors it checks against your account information and recent videos:
Checked
| Factor | What TikTok looks for |
|---|---|
| Unoriginal content | Account info or videos copied from others, or with minimal original input or edits |
| Low quality | Split screens, meaningless reactions, low-quality images or slide videos |
| Advertising | Personal or business contact information in the profile or account info |
| Clickbait | Profile or content with little value, made mainly to attract follows, likes or ad clicks |
| Inappropriate | Sexually suggestive content, excessive body exposure, inappropriate audio or behaviour |
| Disturbing | Graphics or scenes that could upset or shock viewers |
| Security issue | Artificial engagement, manipulation of the rewards system, harassment or illegal activity |
| Guideline violations | Content that violates the Community Guidelines |
| Content violation threshold | 5 video violations in the past 30 days |
| Account violation threshold | 5 total account violations, which makes the account permanently ineligible |
| Government or political account | Identified as a government, politician or political party account |
| Underage | Below the program's age requirement |
| Business account | A Business account |
| Creator Code of Conduct | Restricted for violations of the Creator Code of Conduct |
The advertising row is worded broadly. TikTok's text names personal or business contact information in the profile and does not say whether a brand-enquiry email counts. Read it against your own bio.
Losing standing costs money as well as access. If the account loses the program through violations, for example a permanent ban, outstanding rewards are forfeited; a successful appeal reinstates the account in the program automatically (Creator Academy). Under the US terms, a creator terminated for cause cannot re-apply and forfeits unpaid rewards. How strikes and bans work on TikTok and other platforms is in strikes and appeals by platform.
What are the appeal windows and waiting periods?
Checked
| Situation | Deadline or wait | Source |
|---|---|---|
| A video is found ineligible | Appeal within 80 days | Creator Academy |
| The account is disqualified from the program | Appeal within 30 days | Creator Academy |
| You disagree with an eligibility decision | Appeal within 30 days via the link in the notification | US terms |
| The application is rejected | Re-apply after 30 days | US terms |
| You switch from business to personal | Apply 30 days after the switch | Creator Academy |
| A payment, reporting or termination dispute | Raise it within 30 days, or it is deemed waived | US terms |
| Onboarding or payment details never completed | Balance forfeited after 2 years | EEA terms |
Video appeals start from the notification in your Inbox, or from the removed video under "Community Guidelines violation: See details". Account appeals can also start from TikTok Studio, Creator Rewards Program, Appeal (eligibility article, program FAQ).
TikTok's own pages do not fully agree on the video window. The FAQ in its rewards article gives 80 days for a video found ineligible, then 30 days for an account or a video "disqualified" from the program. If a notice says a video was disqualified rather than found ineligible, an appeal within 30 days meets both wordings.
When and how are rewards paid?
Both sets of terms describe the same cycle. Rewards are calculated in the month after they are earned and paid on the 15th of the month if the payable amount meets the $50.00 minimum payment threshold (the EEA terms add "or its equivalent in local currency"). Payments run through PayPal via Hyperwallet, and fees charged for the transfer fall on the creator (US terms, EEA terms).
The two versions part ways below the threshold. The US terms let TikTok change the threshold and say that unpaid rewards which do not reach it may be deemed expired, at TikTok's discretion. The EEA terms say a payable amount lower than the threshold will still be transferred as set out on the Balance dashboard.
The program FAQ says withdrawals are typically processed within 72 hours, without a guarantee, and that TikTok issues no invoices for program payouts, only downloadable transaction statements. It also says rewards may be taxable and that tax is your responsibility (Creator Academy). What platforms report about creators covers the forms and reports a payout can trigger.

All twelve account rows passing means you meet the published criteria; TikTok still decides each application. A video that fails any row risks earning nothing from the program, even on an eligible account.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Creator Rewards Program the same as the Creativity Program?
Yes. The US terms describe it as formerly known as the Creativity Program Beta (US terms).
Can a business account join the Creator Rewards Program?
No. Only personal accounts qualify. You can switch under Settings and privacy, Account, Switch to personal account, and apply 30 days later (Creator Academy).
Do sponsored videos earn Creator Rewards?
No. Ads, paid promotions and sponsored content are excluded, both as eligible videos and as qualified views (Creator Academy).
Does TikTok publish an RPM for the Creator Rewards Program?
No. TikTok defines RPM as average gross revenue per 1,000 qualified views and names what moves it, but publishes no figure. Its terms treat reporting metrics as confidential, so outside RPM figures cannot be checked against a TikTok source.
Can I join from a country that is not on the list?
No. You must be based in one of the eight countries and have your account registered there, and the EEA terms add that you must not use a VPN or a similar tool (EEA terms).
How long do I have to appeal?
80 days for a video found ineligible and 30 days for an account disqualified from the program (Creator Academy). One Creator Academy page also gives 30 days for a video that is "disqualified", so treat 30 days as the safe deadline for a disqualification notice.
