The rule
A creator tool stack in 2026 can cover all eight jobs, from video editing to newsletter, for €0 on free tiers. Paying mostly buys watermark-free exports, higher resolution or bigger caps. The worked budgets cost €0, €21.92, and €13.67 plus $56.00 a month.
Checked Primary sources
Each job starts with the tool the platform itself provides, where there is one. Two third-party examples follow, listed alphabetically; the order is not a ranking. Every price is the vendor's own, in the vendor's currency, read on its pricing page on 2026-09-29. Euro prices are as those pages showed them to a visitor in the EU, and the Microsoft price is from its Irish store. Tallyterms does not convert currencies, so the budgets keep euros and dollars on separate lines.
"Subtitles" here means turning a video's speech into on-screen text, not tools that write post captions. This page prices what you pay out; what the platforms pay you, and when, is in creator monetization requirements by platform.
What does each job cost?
Checked "Free" is the vendor's no-cost tier with the limits the vendor states. "Paid" is the lowest paid tier. Where a cell says "shown as", the page leads with the annual price split into months.

CapCut is not in the table. Its pricing address, capcut.com/pricing, returned "Not Found" on 2026-09-29 and its home page linked no pricing page, so there was no vendor price to check.
What do the free tiers hold back?
Four kinds of limit recur across the free tiers above. They are the reason to pay, so name the one you would hit first before you buy anything.
- Watermarks. Descript's and Kapwing's free exports, BIGVU's free recordings and Teleprompter.com's Starter recordings carry a watermark. Clipchamp's free plan lists watermark-free exports.
- Export resolution. 720p on the free tiers of Descript, Kapwing and BIGVU; 1080p on Clipchamp Free and Teleprompter.com Starter; up to Ultra HD at 60 fps in the free DaVinci Resolve.
- Usage caps. 60 media minutes a month on Descript Free; 4-minute exports and 10 minutes of auto-subtitling on Kapwing Free; 3 downloads a month on Snappa; 50 email sends a month on Beacons Free; 2,500 subscribers on beehiiv Launch and 10,000 on Kit Free.
- Fees on sales. Beacons Free and Linktree Starter list 9% seller fees on products you sell through them. The fee comes off each sale, so it grows with revenue while a subscription price stays flat.

What do the platforms' own tools cover?
Scheduling is the one job every platform in the table covers in its own tool, for its own company's platforms only, with the limits set on its help page: Instagram, Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio and TikTok.
Subtitles
TikTok generates captions automatically for uploaded videos, in the language you pick on the post screen, and you can edit or remove them afterwards. Its creator captions go further: the speech is transcribed and you can change the font style and colour (TikTok). YouTube's automatic captions can be reviewed and corrected in YouTube Studio. YouTube lists cases where none are generated, among them a video that is too long, poor sound quality, or a language automatic captions do not support (YouTube Help). A paid subtitle tool earns its price when you want the same captions on a video you post to several platforms, or when a platform's own captions fail on your audio.
Thumbnails
YouTube lets you choose a suggested thumbnail, or upload your own "if your account is verified". For a video thumbnail it recommends 3840 × 2160 pixels with a minimum width of 640, in JPG or PNG, at a 16:9 aspect ratio, and up to 50 MB when uploaded from a computer (YouTube Help). On TikTok, the cover is a frame you choose from the video before posting (TikTok). A thumbnail tool is therefore a YouTube cost first; on TikTok the frame comes from the video itself.
Link in bio
Instagram allows up to five websites on a profile, and anyone can see them (Instagram). A link-in-bio tool is needed only when you want more than five links, a storefront, or email capture on the page.
What do three worked budgets cost a month?
The three stacks below are examples, not recommendations. Each paid line is the vendor's price from the table, with annual prices divided by 12. Euro and dollar lines stay apart; your bank converts dollar prices at its own rate on the day it charges.
Stack A runs every job on a free tier or a platform tool.
What it costs in limits: Teleprompter.com's watermark on anything recorded in it, 1080p exports, five links in bio, no automated email sequences, and TikTok scheduling only for Business accounts or accounts with 10,000 followers or more.
Stack B pays where Stack A's limits bite first for a creator who designs and edits: premium design assets, 4K exports, and a link page with analytics. Microsoft 365 Personal is the line that brings Clipchamp Premium.
Stack C fits a talking-head creator with a growing email list. Descript replaces Clipchamp as the editor: its Hobbyist tier exports 1080p without a watermark and processes 10 media hours a month, and Descript's captions feature covers the subtitles job. Teleprompter.com Pro removes the recording watermark. Kit Creator adds automated email sequences, such as a welcome series for followers who join from social.
Two things the tapes show. Annual billing sets most of the figures: every paid line above is the annual-billing price, and the same tools on monthly billing cost more wherever the vendor shows both, for example Linktree Starter at €6 against €4.50 and Teleprompter.com Pro at $19.99 against $7.50. How do you rerun the budget with your own stack?
- List the jobs you do every week. Drop any you do not do. A creator with no newsletter has seven lines, not eight.
- Start each job on the platform's tool or a free tier. Write down the first limit you would hit: a watermark, a resolution, a cap, a fee.
- Pay only where you hit a limit. Take the price from the vendor's own pricing page on the day, with the plan name and the billing basis.
- Put every price on a monthly basis. Annual price ÷ 12. Multiply per-seat, per-member and per-channel prices by your count.
- Keep currencies on separate lines. Checkout may add VAT or sales tax depending on the vendor and your country.
- Carry the yearly total into your rates. Software is a business cost, and business costs sit in the hourly cost that prices your production time in how to price a sponsored post.
- Re-check before each renewal. Prices, plan names and free-tier limits change. Every figure here carries its checked date.
Frequently asked questions
Why is CapCut not in the table?
This page lists a price only from the vendor's own pricing page. On 2026-09-29, capcut.com/pricing returned "Not Found" and the CapCut home page linked no pricing page, so there was no vendor price to check. It can come back when CapCut publishes one.
Which free video tools export without a watermark?
Of the tools checked here, Clipchamp's free plan lists watermark-free exports, up to 1080p (Clipchamp). The free tiers of Descript, Kapwing and BIGVU, and Teleprompter.com's Starter plan, put a watermark on exports. Their lowest paid tiers remove it.
